Play Death. Leap the gaps, chain scythe attacks and dash through danger in a hand-inked solo action platformer. Thirteen souls are overdue. You have a job to do.
Cross five strange worlds: a churchyard, the hothouse at Mortlake, Mortlake Hall, a frozen mere and the opera beneath the city. New terrain, enemies and abilities keep the journey moving.
New Ledger starts a fresh campaign; Continue keeps your saved progress. Choose an unlocked stage from the Ledger, then confirm its introduction card.
Leave Race a ghost set to None for ordinary solo play. Explore, collect teeth, strike the named Overdue souls and reach the gate. There is no ghost to follow and no demo to watch first.
Platforms, traps and things with too many teeth. Actual gameplay in the Glasshouse, captured during the optional demo.
YOUR FIRST RUN
Move with deadly intent.
Read the wind-up. Let an enemy commit, dash through danger, then answer with the scythe. Press attack during recovery to chain slash, slash, heavy.
Own the jump. Hold for height; release for a shorter hop. Raven Wings add a second jump. Silk Gloves let you cling to walls and kick off.
Make the detour. Teeth buy upgrades; shrines provide checkpoints. Seek all thirteen named Overdue souls for the fuller ending.
Fancy some company?
These are optional extras. The whole campaign is yours to play solo.
01 / WATCH A FALLIBLE RUN
The Mourner
Hesitates, explores, collects teeth, and sometimes dies. Then she rises again. She plays a little better than a beginner: a time you can reach early, or an easy ghost to beat once you find your feet.
Title screen → Watch the Ledger → The Mourner
The Mourner in motion. This is the actual game, playing itself.
02 / FOLLOW THE FAST ROUTE
The Swift Undertaking
A clean, decisive run towards the gate by a strong player: dashes, double jumps, wall jumps and the sickle used where they save time, optional fights skipped. She is the fastest ghost on every stage, and the time to chase.
Title screen → Watch the Ledger → The Swift Undertaking
Watch a route through the whole game. All three pilots can clear all 13 stages, including the final boss. The demonstrations advance through the campaign and loop, so you can leave one playing during a stream break.
They use the game's movement and combat rules; different runs can still go differently.
03 / COLLECT EVERYTHING
The Gilded Collector
The 100% run. She earns her tools, then revisits all thirteen stages for every tooth, heart and named soul, and defeats every foe placed in each stage. Deaths count; this is a complete route, not a flawless one, and the baseline for the 100% category.
Title screen → Watch the Ledger → The Gilded Collector
What 100% means. The scorecard's Stage collection percentage measures teeth, hearts, the Overdue (including the final boss's soul) and every placed foe defeated at least once in the visit.
A heart you touch at full health still counts, and stays to heal you later; a foe that returns after you Rise again need not be fought twice.
04 / TAKE THE SCYTHE
Race a ghost
Now you play. A translucent recorded Reaper is your pace-setter, with a live ahead/behind readout and an edge marker when she is off-screen.
Choose an unlocked stage from the Ledger.
On its introduction card, use ← / → or click Race a ghost to cycle None, The Mourner, The Swift Undertaking and compatible Gilded Collector recordings. The Collector appears once you own her recorded movement tools.
Confirm to begin. Beat the recorded time; the results show how you did.
Ghosts appear where a compatible recording is available. They are recorded runs, not live opponents. Normal races save progress; taking over a demonstration does not.
Leave a name. Share a ghost.
Open Scores & ghosts from the title, Ledger, pause or results screen. Choose a public alias: your sign-in identity stays private. Normal play saves progress to your account and records lifetime teeth and lifetime deaths automatically, including unfinished attempts.
Start a New Ledger for ranked Any% or 100% campaign times. Any% clears all thirteen stages; 100% also collects every tooth, heart and named soul and defeats every placed foe in each stage. Revisits, retries and abandoned attempts add gameplay time. Only runs the server records live, as you play, are ranked, and each board shows every player’s best run. If the game cannot reach your account it says NOT RECORDING on screen, so you never grind for a time that will not count. Resumed saves and New Game+ contribute lifetime totals; watching or taking over a demonstration does not.
Watch stage ghosts beside recorded runs, or export your own and import a friend's JSON file. Imported ghosts are for watching, never ranked submissions. Playback shows recorded movement over static platforms. A replay or server record does not prove unaided play.
